about
I was working in a Chateau (the castle of a bazzillionaire, who rarely visited) high up above sea level, but right on the sea in the South of France. It was a sweet little job that came with a staff chef, and my own gorgeous little stone apartment right there on the property amidst olive trees and sharp and rugged hills. Every night, after my hike back up the face after a dip in the sea, I'd drink rosé and ponder my relationship. It became clear that it was time to end it. Since the man in question was sitting in a car outside the gates, it should have been simple.
I popped this little song down onto my ipad, never to be heard again, I had thought. I dug it up to show the guys in the studio, and they thought it was a good little number. Add some banjo, and BAM!
lyrics
You think I don’t love you no more,
You think I don’t love you no more,
What you don’t know, It might be true.
You think I don’t need you no more,
You think I don’t need you no more,
What you don’t know, I I don't need you.
And I wish there was something I could do.
As days go by, though I try and try,
It seems I love you more when you’re not around,
I know that I’ve got the problem here,
You’re the best I’ve ever found.
One day I’m gonna cry for you,
Someday I will cry for you,
I’ll kick myself for letting you go,
But it’s time it’s time it’s time I let you know.
As days go by, though I try and try,
It seems I love you more when you’re not around,
I know that I’ve got the problem here,
You’re the best I’ve ever found.
One day I’m gonna cry for you,
Someday I will cry for you,
I’ll kick myself for letting you go,
But it’s time it’s time it’s time I let you know.
